This is ‘Rockets’ first ever record. Their music is derived from banter kicked up over coffee and cigarettes. Sporting a unique yet familiar sound, they have drawn influence and inspiration from the likes of Denny Crane, Dallas Green & Young Jeezy.
This debut EP was recorded in a converted church located in the suburbs of Melbourne with Paul ‘Woody’ Annison (Children Collide, Howl, Cabins) and is due to be released in early 2011. This offering is full of catchy tunes that warm your soul and reflect a four-way friendship that was built around music.
Rockets’ debut single ‘Toad’ has already received Triple J play, here’s what some people have said about it:
“I heard this blasting on the Unearthed digital channel and loved it right away. It’s got a little of that awesome early Kings Of Leon vibe.”
4/5 Richard Kingsmill, Triple J
FBi Radio’s Unsigned Artist of the Week “Loud, anthemic indie tunes you can yell along to.”
Alex Pye, FBi Radio
“It’s edgy and brooding but still completely melodic and catchy as hell. I like. Quite a lot”
4/5 Dan Buhagiar, Triple J
