‘OPPOSITE’ is the first offering from Sydney-based band Music/Sound/Dance (M.S.D.). A collective of Music engineers and Musicians from vastly different backgrounds who have come together to create a blend of melodic Pop with Punk, Electro and Rock thrown in.
After recording 10 songs with Aria Award Winning Producer Paul McKercher (Eskimo Joe, The Cruel Sea, Spiderbait) at Studios 301, Byron Bay, they mastered by Steve Smart at 301 Mastering in Sydney. Their songs combine catchy vocals, keyboards, loops, big drums and rock guitars to bring a fresh new sound to the Dance/Rock genre. Music/Sound/Dance has been described as “David Bowie meets Nine Inch Nails at a Duran Duran concert.”
Shooting the video for the first single ‘OPPOSITE’ in Melbourne with noted music video director Darcy Prendergast (Goyte, Eskimo Joe, Midnight Juggernauts), Darcy has managed to capture the high energy and controlled mayhem that Music/Sound/Dance bring to their songs and live performances.
With another single, video and EP due for release in the next few months, 2011 looks to be a very big year for Music/Sound/Dance.
